My first day as a background artist
Holding area, wardrobe, and the art of walking past the camera like you've done it a thousand times.
Daksh Kumar is a Dublin-based actor who spent thirty years in boardrooms before walking onto a set. Featured in Lynley series 2. Hero, sidekick or the man with one line: give him the part.
Pick a role. See the scene.

Scenes written for this site. DK plays every one of them.

For three decades DK sold and delivered large technology programmes across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. That meant a lot of rooms full of people who didn't want to be there, and a lot of practice at making them lean in.
Acting was always the plan for later. Later is now. In 2026 he landed a featured role in Lynley series 2 and has worked on Fair City, Rainmaker, The Day and more, while training at the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin.
What he brings to a set: punctuality, calm through long shoot days, a feel for status and power in a room, and the patience of someone who has sat through a lot of very long meetings.
Same man, different briefs. High-resolution files are available to casting on request.

Level 2: The Stage. Stage performance, script analysis, character development and ensemble work, plus audition practice for theatre, TV and film.
Background procedures, costume fittings, quick changes and long shoot days across Irish and UK productions.
Pitches, negotiations and steering committees. Unofficial, but excellent training in holding a room.
Holding area, wardrobe, and the art of walking past the camera like you've done it a thousand times.
Same nerves, different stakes. What three decades of sales taught me about cold reads.
On supporting roles, and why serving the scene matters more than owning it.
